Stone Picking
The Rake is generally used ahead of the stone picker and the stone raked into rows for pick up by the Picking machine. If the stone is patchy with areas of thicker stone the rake can be employed over the whole paddock as it travels much faster than the picker and makes the job a lot more cost effective. The stone is conveyed into the tipping trailers for dispersal around your property where needed on banks of dams or along tracks etc. Note: The use of two tippers (trailers or trucks), one working beside the stone picker whilst the other unloads, will avoid any waste of time and costly down-time. The Thyregod Stone Picker is a truly amazing machine when it comes to removing stone. Though the working speed is slow, it can dig to a depth of up to 30cms and in heavily stoned areas is most effective. The ground should be suitably worked up prepared and have a little moisture, contain no root matter and be clod free.
